The Tattletale

A tattletale is a person who tries to get someone in trouble by revealing secret information about them. It is the intent of the tattletale to cause trouble and discontent. When an adult tattletales, it is a bid for attention. It's mean-spirited and often an attempt to get someone else in trouble. Children do it until they develop other problem-solving strategies, but unfortunately, some adults have not progressed past the tattletale stage. This becomes a sad, sad state for an adult when their intent it to hurt. I suppose the intent is to be known as a bully. The victim mentality is interesting as the threats, the gossip, and mean social media posts serve as some sort of tattletale attitude.

Protagonists will always find themselves in the "back seat" and as a result they become brackish. Their misconstrued perception of your success pummels their ego and they become spiteful. Their dreams and personal realizations become overshadowed by the successful practices of others who actually went out there and chased their dreams. They feel worthless and disadvantaged. They overlook sacrificial factors that took many, long years of hard work, perseverance and patience to get to where you are today. A lot of careless lessons were learnt on the path to success, a long and rugged path with lots of curves, bumps and dips. Successful people follow their own road and they plan for their success. They never compare themselves to other successful people because every person’s situation and milestones are different. They do not involve themselves in jealousy and greed.

I am grateful for the examples that teach me where I want to go, where I want to be, and who I do not want to be. As I look around our beautiful home, safe, warm, clean and comfortable, I am proud of the person I have become today. I have a couple of more goals to accomplish, and my plans for retirement are sure. Courage has become my middle name. Fairy tales and ex folklore would have us believe that courage is reserved for superheroes and crusaders. But it's simpler than that. Courage is often found in the quiet moments with no audience. The best revenge is silence and I have my God on my side!
