Sundays are perfect! Saturdays are making sure that our meals are planned, laundry is washed and put away (smelling amazing), bed sheets are changed, comforters are washing, and the home scrubbed and clean! Pork roast in the crockpot for an evening meal of tacos and the fixings, football, and best of all, SUNSHINE! Perfect autumn weather! Maybe a little quality conversation time around the fire pit tonight under the stars! This is what life is all about!
I was a bit stressed this week due to an enormous amount of homework, two exams, and an employment workload that was more than usual. Satisfaction in a job well done is SUCESS. The realization that your work and commitment to a task has paid off with accomplishment can drive you onward and upward. The confidence boost is nothing to sniff at either! It is one of the greatest feelings ever. There is a quote that I read that stated, "success is never accidental". It may take a while to reach the end goal but there is no better feeling to know that the goal was reached. Even if it is just the Saturday chores!
Faith and focus are an important part of my journey through life right now. My husband's health has declined again, and we are struggling with the balance of doctors' visits and prescriptions dosages. This is a daily concern for us but there is nothing that I would not do for him. This means that we are careful with what we eat and drink, watch his blood sugar levels and any swelling or other issues. This can take a lot of time out of the day but nursing care assists while I am at work.
Hebrews 11:1 says: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” I want to focus on the word “confidence.” It is not confidence in something, but in someone! It is a confidence in Jesus Christ and what He has done, is doing, and will do in the future. It is a confidence that He came down from heaven, was born in flesh and blood, lived perfectly, died for our sins on the cross, and rose again so that we may have an intimate relationship with God! Regardless of our past sins and mistakes (and the horrid, cowardly people that want to continue to remind us of our past sins), we can now “approach God with freedom and confidence,” (Ephesians 3:12). Faith is confidence in Jesus Christ and His promises! This is where my faith and focus are!
